Sweltering Summer Ultra

The Sweltering Summer Ultra is an annual 8-hour endurance race held at Clapp Park in Pittsfield, Massachusetts. Participants run or walk laps on a certified 0.355-mile dirt and cinder track, switching directions halfway through the event. The race is walker-friendly and features a unique aid station with a no-contact bottle refill system and prepackaged snacks, plus ice pops and pizza for participants.

A virtual 12-hour option is available for remote runners supporting the AYJ Fund, a local nonprofit aiding children with cancer. Awards are given for overall and age group winners, with additional longevity and mileage recognitions. The event supports community involvement and offers volunteer opportunities.
