Event overview
The Tahqua Trail Run is a trail running event at Tahquamenon Falls State Park in Paradise, Michigan on August 8, 2026. The event offers the following distances:
- 50K
- 25K
- 10K
The total participant limit is 250 across all distances. Packet pickup is at Paradise Lakefront Lodge on the Friday before the race. All finishers who complete their registered course receive a commemorative award. Podium awards are given to the top three male and female finishers in each distance. Age-group awards are given for top three in each age category.
Course and logistics
The courses follow the Tahqua Trail and sections of the North Country Trail (NCT) and River Trail. The route passes spruce swale, pine ridges, bogs, Jack Pine savannah, Camp 10 and Water Tank lakes, reaches Lower Tahquamenon Falls about 9.5 miles into the route, and finishes near the Upper Tahquamenon Falls. The 50K in 2026 is an out-and-back of the 25K course.
There are six aid stations located at approximately 4, 8.4, 12.8, 18.2, 22.6, and 27 miles. Runners are required to carry a 20 oz water bottle or other functional hydration system; water and electrolyte drink refills are available at aid stations and basic fueling items are provided. Bus transportation carries runners to start locations from either the Upper Falls Parking Lot or downtown Paradise. Parking is available at Valley Spur. Dogs are allowed in the start/finish area but not on the race course. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
