Takshanuk Ridge Run
The Takshanuk Ridge Run is a challenging 11.5-mile summer trail race held annually in Haines, Alaska. Starting at the 7 Mile Saddle Trailhead, the course ascends through temperate rainforest and follows an iconic alpine ridgeline before finishing in downtown Haines. The race offers a rugged wilderness experience in bear country, requiring participants to carry mandatory gear such as bear spray, food, water, and a waste bag.
There are no aid stations, emphasizing self-sufficiency. Proceeds support local middle and high school cross-country programs. Finishers receive a beer or root beer token, and prizes are awarded to top finishers and most improved runners. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
Always double-check with the organizer's website – things can change, and we might have sprinted past a few details!
