Taskinas Creek Half Marathon (Hike-a-Half)
The event takes place on Sunday, June 7, 2026, at York River State Park in Williamsburg, VA. It is presented as a "no frills" Hike-a-Half format intended to be inclusive rather than strictly competitive. Registration is limited to 250 participants. The event will have official results posted on UltraSignup and finisher medals available; participants may decline a medal if they prefer.
Course and logistics
Distance: Half Marathon (13.1 miles).
The course is mostly trail and includes over half single-track mountain bike trail, dirt fire-type road, and about 1 mile of pavement. Elevation reaches around 600 ft with rolling terrain. The final 2-mile section is described as notably difficult. Aid stations are located at approximately miles 3.1, 6.5, and 10.5 and will offer water, electrolytes, and fueling foods. There is free parking and the course will be well marked. Time limit for the race is 5 hours. Packet pick-up is race day only and begins at 6:30 am; there is no race day registration. T-shirts are not included in registration and must be added at checkout by May 17; limited shirts may be available later. Overall and age group placements will be posted, but overall and age group awards are not included this year. A special PR coaster award is given to participants who beat their previous time on the half marathon course. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
