Texasman Triathlon - Overview
The Texasman Triathlon is scheduled for Sunday, April 26, 2026, at Lake Ray Roberts, Johnson Branch Unit in Valley View, Texas. The event features multiple race options including Sprint, Olympic, X-50, X-50 Aquabike, and a Sprint Duathlon. There are Athena (female 165 lbs+) and Clydesdale (male 220 lbs+) categories for several distances. The venue uses open water swim, a rural bike course with roads open to vehicle traffic, and a shaded run course. Swimming is open water and the sprint swim distance is now 400 yards; Olympic and X-50 swims are 1 mile. Race officials will announce whether wetsuits are permitted on race morning; water temperature information is provided by the venue.
Courses, rules and awards
Safety and race rules note that earpieces projecting sound are not allowed and riding in the traffic lane is not permitted. Swim start waves are assigned by swim cap given at packet pickup. Course maps and the race guide contain participant responsibilities; competitors are required to follow USA Triathlon rules and possess USAT membership or a one-day permit.

Awards are three deep per age group and for Athena/Clydesdale divisions (39 and under, 40+). One-deep awards are given for overall, masters, grand masters, Aqua-bike overall, and Sprint Duathlon overall. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
