The Thanksgiving Day 5K Run & Family Stroll presented by T‑Mobile is the 36th annual edition, scheduled for Thursday, November 27, 2025, at the Aspiria campus, 6240 Sprint Parkway, Overland Park, KS 66211. The event includes the following distances:
- 5K
- Virtual 5K
This event benefits the Kansas City Sports Commission & Foundation and WIN for KC. The organizer states that 100% of proceeds will fund the commission’s mission of attracting major sporting events to Kansas City. Each participant must be officially registered under their own name with accurate personal information; registration fees are non-refundable.
Race features and charity
Strollers are officially allowed; all strollers must line up in the back of the starting chute. No motorized vehicles, roller blades, or bikes are allowed on the course. Intersections will be staffed or protected by the Overland Park police department and/or volunteers. Children can take part in a Fun Run after the 5K finish. Participant perks listed include a race-branded apparel item, freshly baked doughnuts from Krispy Kreme, and for those 21 and older a choice of a Yuengling Flight or Downeast Blackberry Cider.
The race supports Operation Breakthrough and will collect item donations at packet pickup and on race day, seeking food, hygiene items, children’s books, and gently used children’s clothing (for example: pads with wings, canned protein, ramen, kid’s cereal, dry rice/pasta, peanut butter).
