The Animal Run 5k Tofurkey Trot takes place on Thanksgiving morning at San Leandro Marina in California. This vegan-friendly fundraiser combines a 5K run/walk with canicross for dogs, centered on outdoor exercise, animal kindness, and environmental awareness. The 5K course is described as flat and fast for human runners on a paved route, with canicross participants running mostly dirt and grass along the same event.
Proceeds benefit Herd & Flock Animal Sanctuary in Vacaville, a Bay Area animal nonprofit. New this year are race shirts featuring a tofurkey.
