The Barley Chase

About the race
The Barley Chase is a USATF-certified 5k and 10k race in Newport, North Carolina. The course starts and finishes at Shortway Brewing Co. and winds through the heart of the town, with water stations at halfway points.
Participants receive a t-shirt, a finisher medal, and two bib stubs redeemable for post-run pints at the after-party. The event supports Bread & Barley, a local nonprofit, and is held annually in conjunction with Shortway Brewing Company’s anniversary celebration. Awards go to the overall top three men and women and the top two finishers in each age group.
