About the race
The Flydog 5K Fun Run/Walk for PETS & VETS Rescue and Transport takes place at Summerland Key Airport in Summerland Key, Florida. It offers a 5K Run/Walk in person and a Virtual Run/Walk to benefit PETS & VETS, a family-run nonprofit that rescues dogs and assists veterans’ pets. The event is untimed, free, and donation-based, open to all ages and leashed dogs.
The course starts on the runway and then runs along Airport Dr S, Airport Dr N, and W Shore Dr, with grassy and rocky sections and one aid station. Awards for overall male/female and dog, plus giveaways. The runway closes early due to air traffic during the Summerland Key Airport Fly-In.
