The Homer Classic 8k
The Homer Classic 8k is a scenic running event held in Silverton, Oregon, featuring a flat and fast 8k course that passes through the Historic Gallon House Bridge, Marion County's only covered bridge. The event is part of the Homer Davenport Community Festival and includes multiple race options: the Homer Classic 8k run, a 2-mile run/walk, and the new Homer Parade Mile. The Parade Mile allows runners to lead the community festival parade through downtown Silverton, cheered on by thousands.
Organized by the Silverton Runners' Club, proceeds support local school track and cross country programs and youth running scholarships. The races promote community spirit and fitness in a welcoming atmosphere. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
