Heart of the South Road Race

Website Registration

The Last Annual Heart of the South Road Race is an extreme ultramarathon held in Bryant, Georgia, covering distances of 343 or 400 miles. This unique event challenges runners to navigate a course between 300 and 350 miles away from their vehicles, which are parked atop Sand Mountain. Participants are bused to an unknown start location, given maps only upon arrival, and have 10 days to return to their vehicles using only the supplies they carry or find along the way.

The race emphasizes self-reliance, with twice-daily check-ins and support for those who drop out. Finishers receive a jacket and are shuttled to nearby motels for rest. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.

Always double-check with the organizer's website – things can change, and we might have sprinted past a few details!
