The Rubicon

The Rubicon is a challenging and remote foot race held in the backcountry of the northwestern Sierra Nevada near Oxbow Reservoir, California. It offers three route options of increasing difficulty: The Requisite (15+ miles with about 6,700 feet of elevation gain), The Resonant (30+ miles, 12,700 feet gain), and The Revenant (43+ miles, 19,300 feet gain). Each course features multiple hill climbs and water crossings.

This self-supported event has no course markings, aid stations, or official staff, emphasizing personal endurance and navigation skills. Participants must complete shorter routes before attempting longer ones, making it a true test of limits in a rugged wilderness setting.
