Course, support and logistics
All distances use out-and-back courses; the 100 miler follows the full length of the Swamp Fox Passage and is listed as around 104 miles. The 50 miler is listed as about 53 miles; the half marathon is listed as about 14 miles; 50K and 10K are near their advertised distances. The trail is described as mostly flat and runnable, mainly single/double track with some fire roads, boardwalks, roots, and shaded sections. Water may be present on some sections.
Aid support includes 4 aid stations plus 3 water drops on the 52-mile out portion; aid stations will be stocked with food, hydration, and porta potties. The race is cupless - participants receive a reusable collapsible cup and must carry refillable bottles or bladders. Drop bags can be transported to aid stations. Pacers are allowed at or after halfway for the 50 and 100. Optional tracking is available for 50 and 100 with a device fee. The 100 miler has mandatory gear requirements including a phone with the GPX file, 1.5 L fluid capacity, emergency blanket, lightweight jacket, and power bank. Free primitive camping is available at the overflow parking area. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
