Event overview
The River to Clouds Trail Run and Whiskey Festival takes place on February 20-21, 2026. The event pairs trail races on Lookout Mountain with a Whiskey Festival at Ross’s Landing. The festival features tastings from more than 20 distilleries, live music and a DJ, and a meal. Spectators can follow runners with remote split timing points and live video streams. A portion of proceeds will benefit SORBA, Lula Lake, and the Lookout Mountain Conservancy.

The courses are point-to-point and use sections of the Lookout Mountain area, with finish(s) at Ross’s Landing and starts near Cloudland Canyon or Lula Lake depending on distance. Aid stations are planned every 5-10 miles and will provide first aid, water, electrolytes, and a variety of food. The race is cupless; aid stations will refill reusable bottles. Entry fees include a ticket to the Whiskey Festival and a meal. Field limits and prizes: the 100 mile field limit is 350 and has $6,000 in prize money; the 50 mile and relay field limit is 250 with $4,000 in prize money; the 27 mile field limit is 100. Time cut-offs apply: the 100 mile requires at least an 18 min/mile pace and the permit limits running to daylight hours; the 50 mile has a 14-hour limit and the 27 mile has an 8-hour limit.
