Thorne Head Trail Run
The Thorne Head Trail Run, hosted by the Kennebec Estuary Land Trust in Bath, Maine, is a community-focused 4k (2.5 miles) trail race set in the scenic Thorne Head Preserve. The course features a mix of fun single-track and wide trails with riverfront views of the Kennebec River and Whiskeag Creek, passing through woodlands with hemlock and pine trees. Designed for all levels, from beginners to seasoned trail runners, the run emphasizes enjoyment over competition, with no official timing or winners.
Participants receive a unique finisher’s mug and enjoy a hearty fall-themed breakfast including pumpkin muffins, apple cider donuts, pancakes, and bacon. Proceeds support local trail maintenance and environmental education. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
