Thumb Coast Ultra
The Thumb Coast Ultra & Relay is a scenic ultramarathon event held in Michigan's Thumb region, featuring a point-to-point 50-mile race from Harbor Beach on Lake Huron to Caseville on Saginaw Bay. The course is mostly flat, running along dirt and unimproved roads through farmland and lakeshore, with about 500 feet of elevation gain. There is also a fast, out-and-back 50K starting and finishing in Caseville, plus a 50-mile relay option.
The race offers generous cutoff times, well-stocked aid stations, and special awards for 50-mile finishers who "beat the sun" by finishing before sunset. It welcomes beginners, seasoned ultrarunners, and relay teams for a unique springtime challenge. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
