Time and a Half Relay & 5K

Time and a Half Relay & 5K is a new running event hosted by Lake Effect Community Development at Steelworkers Park on Chicago’s Southeast Side, adjacent to the future Illinois Quantum and Microelectronics Park. The weekend feature includes a 12 Mile Relay for four-person teams and a 5K. The 12‑mile relay requires two male and two female runners, with each teammate running a 3‑mile loop to complete the total 12 miles, with a team finish goal of 3 hours 40 minutes.

The course is billed as the fastest along Chicago’s Lakefront, offering a scenic Lake Michigan route along the lake. The event honors South Chicago’s steelworker heritage and community pride. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
