TK 5k
The TK 5K, held in Fernandina Beach, Florida, is an annual race organized by the Friends of Fernandina Skate Park to honor Terry Kelly, a father who suffered a heart attack during a skate event. The event coincides with the Terry Kelly Skate Festival and features a scenic route similar to the Shrimp Festival Run, culminating with the last 100 yards on the steps Terry once took. Participants can register for various categories, with awards including skateboards made from retired skateboard wood.
The event promotes healthy activity, community engagement, and supports youth programs through skateboarding initiatives. Pre-race packet pickup and race day activities are planned, with efforts to promote sustainability. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
