The Tofte Trek Wilderness Race, held in Tofte, Minnesota, is a challenging 10K run and walk event starting at the Birch Grove Community Center. The course ascends a hill toward the Superior Hiking Trail before descending through muddy snowmobile trails, offering runners a rugged wilderness experience. Participants proudly earn their "muddy badge of courage" upon finishing.
The event includes a 10K run, 10K walk, a one-mile race, and a kids' sprint race, with age-group and overall awards. Dogs are not permitted on the course or at the community center.
