Top of Tamarack : event overview
Top of Tamarack is a mountain bike, run, and hike event organized by Gr8ter, Inc. on Saturday, September 27, 2025, at Tamarack Village (311 Village Drive, Tamarack, ID). The event supports mental health awareness and suicide prevention. Participants may choose their own distance on the gravel service roads that climb to the summit; the maximum distance is 15 miles round trip with a total climb of 2,900 ft. Each mile is marked with a token; participants collect tokens along the route and may collect all tokens at the summit aid station. The first male and female to reach the summit in both the bike and run categories are recognized, and awards are given to the top three athletes in each category.
Course, logistics and use of proceeds
The course is an out-and-back along gravel service roads, starting and finishing in the Village. Parking is in the main Tamarack lot with overflow near the Osprey Lodge. Aid stations are located at the start/finish, Wildwood intersection (3.1 miles), Midmountain (4.8 miles), and the summit (7.3 miles). Participants must carry refillable water containers because aid stations will not provide disposable cups. Restrooms are available at the base, mid-mountain, and summit. The course is timed to the summit only; results include tokens collected and time to the top. Race proceeds (100% of net) fund Gr8ter programs such as Trail Fridays, the Gr8ter Sock Project, Gr8ter Kids Crew, and Camp Gr8ter. Registration deadlines and packet pickup details are specified by the organizer. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
