Format and rules
The event is run as repeated 1-mile loops that must be completed within 20 minutes each. Participants eliminated for missing the cut or failing to be at the start line when three warning sounds occur must stop and ring a bell to mark their exit. The ruck division requires a 30 lb ruck with a 0.5 lb leeway; all ruck participants will be weighed before the event and may be weighed randomly afterward. Missing the required weight by more than 0.5 lb results in elimination. Competitors must finish in the same division they start. Buckles are awarded to those who reach 100 miles. A special prize is designated for participants who wear a unit, fire, or department shirt for the first 20 laps. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
