Event overview
Tough Mugu is a trail running event held at La Jolla Group Campground in Point Mugu State Park, 1 mile north of 9000 E Pacific Coast Hwy, Malibu, CA 90265. The event includes the following race distances:

The event is listed as Race #2 of the Bulldog Challenge Series. The 2026 event day is July 18, 2026. In 2025 the fastest overall male and female in the Tough Mugu 25k each received a $500 cash prize.
Race details and services
Aid stations on course are stocked with Skratch Labs hydration. Results are chip timed and same-day finisher medal and race tee are provided. Age group and overall awards are presented at a post-race festival. After the race there is a complimentary breakfast, a Beer Garden for ages 21 and over, sponsor prize raffles, and post-race sport massages provided by Vision For Enrichment.
