The event typically attracts about 1,600 participants. The course passes the North County Road tree canopy and finishes along the Lake Trail with views of the Intracoastal Waterway. The race supports the Town of Palm Beach United Way; funds raised are used to provide holiday meals to individuals and families in Palm Beach County.

Packet pickup is hosted by Pumphouse Pouratorium, 1016 Clare Avenue, #5A, West Palm Beach, FL 33401, on November 25 and November 26, 2025, with parking available on the street and in a nearby lot. Pumphouse offers 20% off purchases with proof of Turkey Trot registration.
The 5K is chip timed with race bibs so a runner's time begins and ends when they cross the timing mats. Race medals are given to all participants. Trophies are awarded to the top two male and top two female finishers in each age group. Age divisions are: 9 and under; 10-13; 14-17; 18-21; 22-29; 30-39; 40-49; 50-59; 60-69; 70+. The event publicity campaign reaches about 8,000 local businesses and households via media, email, website, Facebook, X, and Instagram.
