Event
The Trail Golf Endurance Challenge is a trail running event at Trailyard Outpost, 2651 Clifford Rd, Valparaiso, IN. Distances offered include:
- 50K
- 10M
- 50K Relay
- 10M Relay
Each Hole (route) is about 3-4 miles long. The 50K covers nine Holes with roughly 1,700 ft total elevation gain; the 10M covers three Holes with about 500 ft total gain. Registration opens December 27, 2025. Every participant receives a custom finisher award.
Format and rules
Runners start each Hole at a designated hourly tee time and attempt the same route for that Hole. Time windows for each Hole determine a stroke score (for example, Eagle = 2 strokes, Birdie = 3, Par = 4). If a runner skips or does not finish a Hole they receive a Triple Bogey (score of 7). In a tie, the lowest cumulative time on course breaks the tie.
Runners are responsible for their own aid; water, Tailwind, and coffee are provided for runners only. There are no aid stations on course and no on-course aid from support crew while a runner is on course. Small tents (maximum 10'x10') may be set up within 50 yards of the start/finish. Relay teams consist of 2 or 3 registered members with only one team member on course at a time; teammates may divide Holes as they choose. The event offers youth pricing for ages 19 and under and participates with a fund to waive registration fees for eligible runners. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
