Organization and features
The Fort Gibson American Legion and Trail of Honor Flags organize the event. Trail of Honor Flags incorporated was founded in 2019 to continue efforts to place flags from HWY 62 to the National Memorial Cemetery, and the long-term goal is 300 permanent flag poles each with a 5x8 American flag. Runners may choose to carry a flag during the race; that option is offered at registration. The 5k course is USATF certified and race timing is provided by I:40 Race Service.
