Trapp Lodge Mountain Marathon
The Trapp Lodge Mountain Marathon is a challenging trail running event held at the scenic Trapp Family Lodge in Stowe, Vermont, nestled in the Green Mountains. Offering both half and full marathon distances, the race features a 13.1-mile loop with approximately 2/3 double track and dirt roads, and 1/3 rugged, winding single track trails. Runners face significant elevation changes, including a demanding climb to Round Top Mountain's summit, with a total elevation gain and loss of about 1,900 feet per loop (3,800 feet for the full marathon).
The course showcases beautiful fall foliage, making October an ideal time to experience Vermont’s vibrant autumn colors and festive local atmosphere. Aid stations provide hydration and nutrition, and the event emphasizes a cup-free, environmentally conscious approach. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
