United Against Poverty Turkey Trot : Event overview
The 18th Annual Trot Against Poverty is a Thanksgiving Day 5K on Thursday, November 27, 2025, at Riverside Park in Vero Beach (3250 Riverside Park Drive). The event is open to runners, joggers, and walkers and uses professional chip timing on a certified 5-kilometer course with posted results. Proceeds support United Against Poverty and its programs that assist local households moving toward economic self-sufficiency.
Logistics and race details
Pre-registration is available through November 26. Registration pricing: $35 (July 9 - September 30), $40 (October 1 - November 26), and $50 on race day. Packet pickup is scheduled November 25 and 26, 10:00 a.m. - 4:30 p.m., at the UP Center (1400 27th Street, Vero Beach); day-of packets may be picked up at Indian River Charter High School. Race shirts are provided to the first 1,700 registrants. Post-race offerings include a sweet potato pancake breakfast and an awards ceremony. Awards are listed for overall and masters, fastest stroller, top age-group finishers across standard age brackets, and an overall non-binary award. The event supports peer-to-peer fundraising and United Against Poverty programs such as Member Share Grocery Programs, Crisis Stabilization, the Success Training Employment Program, and the Build UP workforce training program.
