Trot Against Poverty 5K
Now in its 18th year, the Thanksgiving Day Trot Against Poverty 5K in Vero Beach, Florida, is held at Riverside Park. The event draws about 2,000 runners, walkers, and joggers for a professionally timed, certified 5K, plus a free ¼-mile kids race. The atmosphere is family-friendly and community-driven, featuring Turkey Tom, a 25-foot inflatable turkey, and festive supporters.
Proceeds benefit United Against Poverty’s programs (MSGP, Crisis Stabilization, STEP, Build UP) helping local families achieve economic self-sufficiency. Perks include commemorative shirts and medals, a post-race sweet potato pancake breakfast, and opportunities for team fundraising. It's the Treasure Coast's largest 5K.
