Tulip Trot for Parkinson’s Disease Awareness 5K Run/Walk
The event is a community running and walking event held at Garvin Park, 1600 N Main St, Evansville, IN. It includes the following distances:
- 5K Run/Walk
- 1 Mile Walk
- Virtual 5K
Event features and logistics
The live event provides information about Parkinson’s disease and several activity stations, including a simulation station showing what it can feel like to have Parkinson’s disease, a fall prevention station, information about exercise classes for people with Parkinson’s disease, and a memorial / honorarium station. A yard sign sponsorship option is offered so a picture can be printed on a yard sign and placed on the course in memory or in honor of an individual.
Shirts are offered to registrants who meet the organizer’s registration deadline; virtual participants who meet the stated cutoff may have shirts mailed. Shirt and bib pickup is organized at Garvin Park with sessions the day before and on race morning. Awards are given to the top three male and top three female finishers in the 5K run. The event benefits the nonprofit PDEVV Hub. Sponsors include a title sponsor and several business sponsors. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
