About the race
The Umstead Trail Marathon is held at William B. Umstead State Park in Raleigh, North Carolina. The 26.2-mile race is run entirely within the park’s 5,000-acre landscape of dense woods, lakes, streams, and rolling hills.
The course blends technical single-track with fine gravel bridle trails, offering a scenic yet challenging, hilly route. Runners can expect well-stocked aid stations, dedicated volunteers, and finish-area food. Each participant receives a commemorative T-shirt and a pint-glass finishers award, while the top 15 male and female finishers earn a unique handcrafted prize.
Proceeds benefit Umstead State Park and the Carolina Godiva Track Club. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
