University Run

University Run, hosted by Rice University Athletics in Houston, TX, is a revival of the Bayou Bucket 10K, 5K, and KidsK. The event offers 10K and 5K in-person and virtual options, plus KidsK and a Family Walk. Participants—from students to alumni and fans—are invited to represent their alma mater in a spirited, dress-to-impress atmosphere.

The course winds through Rice University, including a hill sprint to the 50‑yard line and a finish on a jumbotron. All runners receive chip timing, a finisher medal, and a unisex shirt; KidsK gets a shirt and medal. Post-race features include food, music, and family-friendly fun.
