Vero Beach Octopus Ultra
The Vero Beach Octopus Ultra, held in Vero Beach, Florida, is a unique multi-distance ultramarathon featuring a central base with eight out-and-back "Octo-Arms." Runners can choose distances from a 5K dash to a full 100-mile race by completing various combinations of these arms. The course offers a challenging South Florida summer environment with diverse terrain and heat considerations. The event supports the Environmental Learning Center, with the race base located on its grounds.
While crew support is not mandatory, it is highly recommended due to long stretches without water access. Participants have up to 32 hours to complete their chosen distance, earning an Octopus Buckle for finishing the full 100 miles. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
