About the race
The Waves & Whales 5K Trail Run is an annual event held on the Mendocino Coast in Point Arena, California. The scenic course starts behind City Hall in a conifer forest near Highway 1, follows coastal bluffs along the Point Arena-Stornetta Unit of the California Coastal National Monument, and loops back through pine and cypress forests. Open to runners and hikers, the event offers participants organic cotton t-shirts and snacks, with age categories and handmade award medallions.
Proceeds support ACORN Partners in Education’s Students Protecting the Coast program, which engages youth in environmental stewardship and conservation education.
