About the race
Welcome Run 5K, organized by The Welcome Network in Lansing, Illinois, supports the Welcome Homes & Resettlement Program for asylum seekers and refugees. The in-person 5K starts and finishes at Living Word Church (2248 186th St, Lansing) and follows a fast, flat, double-loop neighborhood course designed for runners and walkers alike. The event is family-friendly, with strollers welcomed and a Kids Run for those 10 and under, plus a virtual 5K option.
The race is professionally timed by j3 Timing and offers prizes for overall and age-group top finishers. Proceeds help fund six Welcome Homes families for the upcoming year. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
