Whitefish Lake Triathlon

Event overview

The Whitefish Lake Triathlon is scheduled for Saturday, June 27, 2026, in Whitefish, Montana. The event offers two entry options: a Sprint Tri and a Sprint Tri Team Relay. The Sprint Tri entry fee is listed as $85 and the Team Relay fee as $200. Both events are open to athletes aged 13 to 99. The race base and transition area are at City Beach on Lakeside Boulevard.

Course details

• Swim: 1/2 mile point-to-point open water swim, starting and finishing at Whitefish City Beach. The swim follows a triangle around two buoys; swimmers should keep the buoys to their left shoulder.
• Bike: 20K out-and-back along the lake. The route is mostly flat but includes about 4 miles of hills. There is a marked turnaround on E Lakeshore Drive with cones and a volunteer. A police officer will manage traffic at the Edgewood and Wisconsin intersection. Riders are advised to stay to the right on the road rather than the bike path because of pedestrians.
• Run: 5K course consisting of two laps. The run goes north on Lakeside Boulevard and Dakota Avenue, turns back on Dakota Avenue to Edgewood Place, and on the second lap returns via Washington Avenue to the transition area and finish.
