Event details

The Wild West Relay is a point-to-point running relay across Colorado held July 31 to August 1, 2026. The route starts in Fort Collins and finishes at Steamboat Springs Ski Resort, covering 200 Miles. The event is offered solo or in teams. Team formats listed include 12 person team (7-12 runners), Ultra team (4-6 runners), Super Ultra team (1-3 runners), and a High School Team category. The event description notes mountain passes, open spaces and roads along the course.

Registration, logistics and support

Team captains should register first; a full team is not required for the captain to begin registration. Gear check and packet pickup are available in Fort Collins the day before the race and on race morning (one hour before a team start). Each team will carry a GPS tracker and runner tracking is available through the race apps (MAProgress and the Endurance HQ app). Teams may provide two volunteers or pay a volunteer fee payable to the nonprofit Windsor Gives. The event relies on more than 150 volunteers. The race is part of a 2026 calendar of Colorado endurance events and is linked with the Flaming Foliage Relay for a combined recognition called the Mountain Goat Belt Buckle. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
