Event overview
The 2025 Willow High School Turkey Trot takes place on Thursday, November 27, 2025, at Willow Spring High School, 1704 Old Honeycutt Rd., Fuquay Varina, NC 27526. The event was established in 2022. Proceeds benefit the schools' cross country teams, track teams and sports boosters. All participants receive a medal at the end of their race. Participants who register for the two 5K events before October 24 will receive a t-shirt; t-shirts are not guaranteed for later registrations.
Race details
The event features a USATF-certified 5K course that starts and ends on the school track and includes a loop around campus, the Park-Depot Greenway Trail, and the South Lakes neighborhood. The Kids Fun Run and Diaper Dash take place on the school track. The competitive 5K has a 30-minute time limit and includes overall awards for the top three finishers and age-group awards for the top two in each group; awards are given after the competitive 5K. The Fun Family 5K allows walkers, runners and strollers and includes a costume contest judged on social media.
