Course and race logistics
The course is a paved, fairly flat out-and-back route along the Mount Vernon Trail beside the Potomac River, running from Gravelly Point north toward Theodore Roosevelt Island with views across the river to the Washington Monument. Water stations: four on the 10k at approximately miles 1.55, 2.8, 3.4, and 4.65; one on the 5k at approximately mile 1.55. Port-a-johns are located adjacent to the parking lot. Packet pickup is available at the event; there will be no on-site race registration. Awards are given to the top three men and women overall and to first and second in listed age groups; overall top-three finishers are not eligible for age-group awards. Live results are posted after the race and a QR code will allow live viewing on race day. The event is run in most weather; officials may delay, change, or cancel the event for safety and will notify registrants. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
