The Winter Classic 5K takes place on Sunday, December 7, 2025, in Cambridge, Massachusetts. The course starts and finishes in downtown Cambridge and runs along Massachusetts Avenue. The route is described as fast and flat. Festive attire is encouraged but not mandatory.
Entry, swag and awards
Entry fees increase by date: $40 until October 14; $42.50 from October 15 through November 10; $45 from November 11 through December 1; and $50 during race week if spots remain. The virtual entry fee is listed as $40 and virtual registration closes on December 7, 2025.
Runners may choose either a long sleeve gender-specific technical shirt or a winter running hat when registering; both items can be added for an extra $15. T-shirts are limited to the first 3,200 registrants and are navy for 2025. All race swag must be picked up during bib pick up before the race; swag will not be available after the race and will not be mailed unless the participant is virtual.
Awards are given to the top three overall male, female, and non-binary finishers, and to the top three male and female finishers in each age division (under 14; 14-18; 19-29; 30-39; 40-49; 50-59; 60-69; 70-79; 80+). Winners are notified by email and awards are mailed about two weeks after the race; there is no day-of award ceremony.
