Event overview
The 14th Annual Winter Lights 5K takes place on Saturday, December 6, 2025, in Pembroke, MA with the start and finish at the Pembroke Community Center on Center Street. The race is run on a closed loop course through neighborhood streets. The event takes place after the town tree lighting and is held in the dark; headlamps or flashlights are required for all participants. Walkers are permitted and dogs are not allowed on the course. All participants must be able to cross the finish line within 60 minutes; the course will close and roads will reopen after that time. There is no water stop on the course; runners should carry their own water. Water and snacks will be available at the finish. Restrooms are located inside the community center and a self-serve unattended bag drop will be available.
Logistics, registration and charity
Bib pickup is held at the Pembroke Community Center (Room 127). Another person may pick up a bib without a photo ID if they bring the registrant’s confirmation. Parking is at Pembroke Community Middle School on School Street with shuttle service to the start. Awards are presented after the race for overall 1st–3rd male and female and for male and female age groups from 10 & under through 80+. Race proceeds benefit the Pembroke Firehouse Pantry, a Massachusetts registered 501(c)(3) that partners with local food suppliers to serve nearly 700 families. Registration follows tiered pricing with Labor Day, early bird, early October, regular, and last-minute pricing periods. Volunteers receive a complimentary future race entry.
