Event
The Winterfest 1 Mile Fun Run and 5k takes place on Friday, November 28, 2025, at the Tryon International Equestrian Center, 70 Legends Circle, Mill Spring, NC 28756. It is the second annual running of this Black Friday event and is described as family-friendly. The event route allows jogging strollers and does not permit dogs on the course, except for service dogs; bikes are not permitted.

Registration includes one free admission to the Winterfest Village (used the same day). Winterfest runs November 29 - December 31 and features a drive-through light show, ice skating, shopping, and weekend Winterfest Village activities in December.
Registration and logistics
T-shirt guarantee requires registration by November 21; sign-ups after that date do not guarantee a shirt. Registration fees:
- Aug 28 - Sep 30: 5K $40, 1 Mile $30
- Oct 1 - Nov 26: 5K $45, 1 Mile $35
- Nov 27 and later: 5K $50 (no shirt guaranteed), 1 Mile $40 (no shirt guaranteed)
Groups of 10+ registering together receive a $5 discount. Packet pick-up begins at 3:00 PM (location TBD). Parking is available in Tryon lots; use the main venue entrance. The event uses chip timing by SnapTiming. Children in strollers do not need to register but will not receive shirts. Free beer will be available after the race for participants over 21 with a wristband and ID. Tickets are non-transferable and non-refundable.
