Wolfman Triathlon and Trail Runs : overview
The Wolfman Triathlon and Trail Runs take place on Saturday, September 12, 2026, at the Gardner Dam Adventure Base in White Lake, Wisconsin. The event includes triathlon divisions (Solo, Tandem, Relay) and two trail run events named Wolfman Heavy 5K - Sheena's Run and Wolfman Heavy 10K. Registration opens on November 28. The event notes that it is an off-road, down-river triathlon and is marking its 32nd year.
Course and race formats
The triathlon is a multi-discipline off-road race with three distinct legs: a whitewater paddle, a technical mountain bike section, and a rugged trail run. The paddle is a Class II section of the Wolf River and finishes at a DNR landing in Langlade. The bike leg crosses Highway 64 and enters the Chequamegon-Nicolet National Forest, using the Nicolet Roche singletrack trails and finishing near the Gardner Dam Adventure Base. The run follows riverbank and forest trails, includes steep climbs, dense ferns, and a final river crossing before the finish and the after party.
