Event details
The YMCA Famous Idaho Potato Marathon & Fun Runs is scheduled for May 16, 2026. The Treasure Valley YMCA organizes the event and the Idaho Potato Commission is the presenting sponsor. This is the 48th annual running of the event. The marathon course is USATF certified (ID25001LAB) and is a Boston-qualifying race.

- 10K
- 5K Spud Run
The full marathon is open to participants aged 16 and older. The half marathon is open to participants aged 14 and older.
Course and related events
All races take place on the Boise Greenbelt, described as flat and scenic. Start and finish locations are at The Morrison Center, 2201 W Cesar Chavez Ln, Boise, ID 83725, because of construction at the BSU Stadium. Packet pick up information and course maps are provided by the organizer.
A separate kids event, the 42nd Saint Alphonsus Capitol Classic Kids Run, is a one-mile race for children 14 and under. Its new course begins in front of the State Capitol, runs down Jefferson, up Bannock, and finishes at Cecil D. Andrus Park. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
