Event overview
The Yosemite Half Marathon takes place on May 9, 2026 in Bass Lake, California, just outside Yosemite National Park in the Sierra National Forest. The race is a point-to-point course on mixed terrain - paved roads and packed dirt trails. The course lists an elevation gain of 449 feet and a maximum elevation of 5,448 feet. The event has a 4-hour time limit. Wheelchairs and strollers are not permitted.
The race includes an expo and bib pickup at Recreation Point Campground the day before the race. A Vacation Races campground is available at Recreation Point with tent rentals; RVs and trailers are not allowed.
Course and logistics
The course begins with about 5 miles on a wide packed dirt trail through pine forest with rolling terrain. Miles 6-10 are a downhill section on a wide paved road. After crossing RD-274, the route follows N Shore Road around Bass Lake to roughly mile 12.25, then turns onto S Shore Road and finishes on a dirt trail at Recreation Point Campground on the lake. Pavement covers most of the middle section of the race.
Aid stations are cup-free and include water, Gnarly Hydrate, Honey Stinger gels, toilets, and basic first aid; expect about five aid stations and a medic at the finish. Shuttles run between Oakhurst and Bass Lake for runners and limited spectator access; parking near Bass Lake is limited.
