Event overview
The Yosemite Half Marathon takes place on May 9, 2026, at Bass Lake, California. The event is a point-to-point half marathon with an accompanying charity bib option. Terrain is mixed road and trail, and the course is described as mostly downhill through the Sierra National Forest near Yosemite National Park.
Course and support
The course begins on a wide packed dirt trail through pine forest for the first 5 miles, continues with a fast downhill segment on a wide paved road for miles 6-10, then follows North Shore Road around Bass Lake for about 3 miles before returning to a dirt trail to finish at Recreation Point Campground on the lake. Elevation gain is listed as 449 feet and maximum elevation is 5,448 feet. The event has a four-hour time limit (about 18.5 minutes per mile). Aid stations are cup-free, with about five stations offering water, electrolyte drink, gels, toilets, and basic first aid; a medic is stationed at the finish and extra first-aid supplies are available at Mile 7. Organizers recommend training on paved roads with extended downhill portions.
Logistics and amenities
Expo and bib pickup occur the day before at Recreation Point Campground. Shuttle service runs between Oakhurst and Bass Lake race-area locations; parking near Bass Lake is limited and Oakhurst parking with shuttle access is emphasized for spectators. A Vacation Races campground is available at Recreation Point (tent rentals offered, RVs and trailers not allowed). The event follows a zero-waste, cup-free policy. Awards include place medals for overall and age-group finishers and finisher medals for all who complete the race. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
