Event overview
The Zion Half Marathon takes place on February 28, 2026, in the Springdale/Virgin area of Utah. The event includes a Half Marathon (13.1 miles) and a Charity Bib option. The course is a paved point-to-point route that begins in Virgin, UT, follows Hwy 9 and a paved path parallel to the Virgin River through Grafton and Rockville, and finishes in front of Cable Mountain Lodge near the south entrance to Zion National Park. The course is described as an uphill route with a steady incline and a 4 hour time limit.
Course, logistics and support
The race is wheelchair and stroller accessible and is a cup-free event. There are five aid stations spaced roughly every two miles starting around mile 3; aid stations provide water, Gnarly Hydrate, Honey Stinger gels, toilets, and basic first aid. Aid station 1 (near mile 3) is the official clothing drop; a medic is stationed near mile 7. Expo and bib pickup take place the day before at Virgin Town Park. Shuttles run between Springdale and La Verkin and the start area; there is no start-line parking. Awards include place medals for top overall and masters finishers and age-group place medals; all finishers receive finisher medals. The Charity Bib option carries a fundraising commitment.
