3H Trail Half Marathon - King George, VA

Website

The 3H Trail Half Marathon in King George, Virginia, is a scenic out-and-back race held on the Dahlgren Railroad Heritage Trail, a flat, smooth, and fast converted railroad bed featuring dirt, gravel, grass, and pine needle surfaces. The course offers nearly 100% shade from surrounding trees, enhancing runner comfort despite the August heat and humidity. Starting at the eastern end of the trail, runners cover approximately 6.5 miles westward before returning.

The event includes water and Gatorade stations, cash prizes for top finishers, and awards across age groups. Participants receive a finisher medal and technical tank top, with food and drinks available at the finish. The race supports trail preservation through the Friends of the Dahlgren Railroad Heritage Trail. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
