Event
The 3H Trail Half Marathon + DHRT 50K takes place on Saturday, August 8, 2026 in King George, Virginia (4224 University Drive, King George, VA 22485). The event includes these distances:

Entry fees listed are $65 for the half marathon and $90 for the 50K, with a price increase scheduled after December 7, 2025. The half marathon is open to ages 14 to 99. Time limits are stated as 4 hours for the half marathon and 8 hours for the 50K. All participants receive a finisher medal and a technical tank top or t-shirt; shirts are not guaranteed after July 21, 2026. Food and drinks are provided at the finish.
Course and logistics
Both courses run entirely on the Dahlgren Railroad Heritage Trail, a 16 mile converted rail bed. The trail is flat and smooth with surfaces of dirt, gravel, grass, and pine needles, and is described as providing almost 100% shade. The half course is an out-and-back that starts at the eastern end and heads west about 6.5 miles before returning.
Aid is available at specific mile markers: water near miles 3.3, 6.5, 9.8 and 12.2; Gatorade at miles 3.3, 6.5 and 9.8; and food at the Panorama aid station mainly for 50K runners. The event operates cupless racing - runners should bring their own hydration vessel or HydraPak SpeedCup. Packet pickup locations and dates are listed in advance.
