4sta Hike

The 4sta Hike is an annual trail running event held at Loud Thunder Forest Preserve near Andalusia, Illinois, along the Mississippi River. Participants run a challenging 1-mile loop featuring smooth single track, rocks, roots, downed trees, and steep gradients up to 48%. The course offers two options: an easier main trail loop or a preferred harder route with off-trail sections, with elevation gains of 230 to 304 feet per loop.

Runners can complete as many loops as they wish within a 4-hour time limit, making it a test of endurance and vertical gain rather than speed.
