50K.U.M

The 50K.U.M is an ultra running event held at the Michigan Technological University Tech Trails in Houghton, Michigan. It offers two race distances: a 25K single loop and a 50K double loop course through scenic wooded trails. The 50K race starts in the dark, requiring participants to use headlamps for the first 1.5 hours.

The course features multiple aid stations stocked with water, drink mixes, and typical ultra foods, and runners must check in at each station. The race is fully supported, with clear course markings and safety measures including road crossing assistance. Time limits are 8 hours for the 50K and 7 hours for the 25K.
