Canal Run

The Canal Run is a premier running event celebrating its 50th anniversary on July 19, 2025, in Hancock, Michigan. This family-friendly event features a variety of races, including a half marathon, 10-mile run and walk, 5-mile run and walk, a 2-mile fun run/walk, and a Kids Dash, along with adaptive categories for participants with disabilities. The scenic course runs along the Portage Canal, and participants receive a commemorative t-shirt, unique awards, and free downloadable race photos.

Proceeds from the event support local non-profits, contributing over $30,000 since 2011 through the Canal Run Gives Back program. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
