Event overview
Absolution Run is scheduled for January 3, 2026, at St. Edward State Park in Kenmore, Washington. The event offers two trail distances:
- 4-mile
- 8-mile
It is the fifth event in the 2025-26 Winter Trail Series.
Course and on-course services
The course starts on a wide trail, then moves onto twisting single-track, and goes down to the lakeshore where runners follow the water before returning uphill. The 4-mile distance is one loop; the 8-mile distance is two loops. An aid station is located next to the finish and is about the halfway point for 8-mile runners. The aid station provides water, electrolyte drink, and a selection of carbohydrate-rich or salty foods such as cookies, energy bar pieces, gels, chips, bagels, candy, fig bars, peanut butter and jelly sandwiches, and bananas.
Logistics and series details
There is abundant parking in park lots near the start/finish area; the closest lot may be reserved for hotel staff. A Discover Pass is required to park at St. Edward State Park (one-day and annual options available). If park lots fill, Bastyr University’s northwest lot is available for parking and is about a 0.4 mile (0.7 km) walk to event headquarters; parking there does not require a Discover Pass. Dogs are not allowed on the course due to USATF policies. Runners under 20 are eligible for a youth discount. The Winter Trail Series ranks participants by their best four performances and offers series swag for participation in multiple events.
