The run is part of the 2025-26 Winter Trail Series.
Course and aid
The course starts and finishes in the Lower Meadow next to Piper’s Creek. The route is mostly in forest (about 85%) with a mix of fast, wide trail (64%) and narrower rolling trail (36%). The 5k follows the Piper’s Creek Trail with a gradual then steeper climb, a traverse on South Ridge Trail, a descent via Clay Pit and Hillside Trails to the finish. The 10k is two loops of the 5k course. Measured distances and climb: 5k (3.1 miles) with about 480 feet gain; 10k (6.2 miles) with about 960 feet gain. Distance was measured with a measuring wheel; climb was estimated from contour maps.
The aid station is at the start/finish and serves as the halfway aid point for 10k runners. It supplies water, electrolyte drink, and a selection of carbohydrate-rich or salty foods.
Registration, series details and safety
Online pre-registration closes October 30. Entry pricing varies by registration period. Runners under 20 receive a $10 discount on online pre-registration or event-day prices. Participants who complete four or more Winter Trail Series events earn a pair of limited-edition series socks. Series standings use each runner’s best four performances; at least three scores are required for awards. Awards are given across Female, Open, Masters, Junior, and Youth categories.
Trails remain open to other users and cyclists during the event. Dogs are not allowed on course under applicable policies. Participants are responsible for their own safety and should call 9-1-1 in an emergency. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
